Credits are spent on thinking, not on doing. A saved job replays directly on the page with no model involved — so once a task is compiled, running it again is free, forever, however many times you run it.
A credit buys a fixed amount of AI work, so what a request costs depends on the model you picked and how much of the page it had to read. The panel shows the number before you send, so the price of a choice is visible at the moment you make it — never at the end of the month.
